Littlebrook Loves Grandpals
Littlebrook Kindergarteners know that there's nothing better than having a Grandpal read to them, and they look forward to their weekly sessions with their friends. The Grandpal program, which is sponsored by the Princeton Senior Resource Center, has expanded in the district this year, with four weekly sessions held in Littlebrook alone. The more than two dozen LB Grandpal volunteers are paired with one to two children for the school year.

The program, which has operated in the district since 1998, encourages intergenerational friendships for both children and older adults who may not have a grandparenting relationship nearby. (But, as program coordinator Olivian Boone notes, you don't have to be a grandparent to participate!). The program serves more than 300 elementary students each week, with more than 90 Grandpals volunteering their time. Thank you, Grandpals!
